Kickstarter delivery statement

Yaw VR's second Kickstarter campaign in 2021 was a huge success. The success exceeded all our expectations. We raised a total of $2.4M to produce the Yaw2 simulator.

We were deeply convinced at the time that we were only a few weeks away from production, so it seemed certain that we would be able to successfully deliver KS orders.

Unfortunately, however, partly due to our inexperience and partly due to faulty personnel decisions, the development was delayed to an extraordinary extent.

This was compounded by two unexpected events:
-
Due to chip shortage, we had to completely redesign the electronics and the associated software code, because the microcontroller that controlled our simulator became unavailable on the market
-
Almost at the same time, the price of aluminium started to rise dynamically due to the Ukrainian war, so we decided to redesign the simulator using thinner plate so that the price of aluminium would not prevent deliveries (the price of aluminium eventually dropped back to the previous price level)
Unfortunately, we were only able to deliver just over 300 of the 1200 simulators ordered.

Our capital ran out — all of which was fully spent on development and manufacturing — so now we are trying to keep delivering to our backers from our income.

The fortunate situation is that Yaw3 is now the mature simulator we always wanted to develop, so if we can increase sales, we will be able to deliver more and more KS devics.
So what is important is that we have not given up, we keep delivering (albeit at a slow pace) to our backers and we are confident that a possible fundraising will solve this problem almost overnight.

We are extremely ashamed of this situation, we thank our backers for their endless patience and we ask you to support our intention to get all our backers their simulators as soon as possible with your purchase.

Thank you for your support!
